Title: Transportation Assistant

Role Description:

The Transportation Assistant (TA) supports the day-to-day management of freight shipments, assists the Account Manager and/or Transportation Coordinator, and helps maintain strong customer relationships. This role involves operational, accounting, and customer service responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong phone and email communication skills
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Ability to multi-task despite frequent interruptions

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or customer service
• Familiarity with shipment tracking systems
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions

Responsibilities:

• Track and trace customer shipments
• Manage order entries
• Schedule loading and unloading appointments
• Communicate with customers and carriers
• Process billing and ensure required documentation and customer invoicing requirements are met
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
• Perform additional administrative tasks as requested
