Pay Range: $85,000 – $100,000 annually (DOE)

Our Rancho Dominguez facility plays a critical role in delivering fresh, high-quality products to our customers. We are looking for an experienced Sanitation Manager to lead our sanitation team and ensure our plant operates at the highest levels of cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
Position Summary
The Sanitation Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing sanitation activities to ensure the facility meets all regulatory, customer, and company standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety. This position manages sanitation workers, oversees cleaning schedules, and works closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Production to maintain a safe and compliant processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and develop the sanitation team to ensure effective cleaning of equipment, processing areas, and plant facilities.
Develop and maintain sanitation schedules, procedures, and documentation to meet FDA, USDA, HACCP, and third-party audit requirements.
Ensue compliance with GMPs, SSOPs, and company food safety programs.
Inspect and audit sanitation processes and verify effectiveness through ATP swabs, microbial testing, and visual inspections.
Manage sanitation chemical usage and inventory; ensure safe handling and training for all sanitation employees.
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and QA teams to address sanitation-related issues.
Train sanitation staff on safe work practices, chemical handling, and cleaning procedures.
Maintain accurate sanitation records for audits and regulatory compliance.
Participate in food safety and quality improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot and resolve sanitation-related equipment and process issues.
Ensure sanitation activities are completed efficiently while minimizing downtime.
Qualifications
Required: Minimum 5 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or seafood processing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, and food safety regulatory requirements.
Experience preparing for and passing third-party and regulatory audits.
Proficient in sanitation chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple priorities.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work in cold and wet environments (34–40°ree;F) for prolonged periods.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Climb ladders and access elevated areas as needed.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a refrigerated food processing plant.
Exposure to wet and humid conditions, strong cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Work may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet sanitation schedules.
