As a CAD Designer at AirCorps Aviation, you will play a crucial role in bringing historic WWII aircraft back to life and supporting the modern aerospace industry by modeling aircraft parts and assemblies. You'll be working with original engineering drawings, transforming them into precise and detailed models that will guide our skilled fabrication team.
\nApplicants must have a solid understanding of SolidWorks (or similar CAD modeling software), drafting techniques, 3D surfacing principles, and familiarity with engineering terminology. Strong math skills, mechanical aptitude and familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment and platforms is preferred.

\n \nRESPONSIBILITIES:
\nCreate solid models, detail drawings, and assembly drawings from original engineering drawings
\nProduces high quality part and product designs and generates detailed engineering drawings, free of errors, to be shared with fabricators and/or vendors.
\nStudies issues identified during fabrication to improve existing design.
\nProactively identifies issues to minimize potential for scrap materials and rework of parts.
\nProficiently uses computer-based and online software and systems daily.
\nEffectively uses systems to communicate project needs with other team members, maintain relevant compliance data, and monitor task completions.
\nConsistently be at work and on time
\nContribute to building a positive team spirit
\nFollow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations, including drug alcohol testing policies
\nSeek new ways to improve personal productivity and shop systems
\nPerforms additional duties as assigned.
\nREQUIREMENTS:
\nJob knowledge through suitable education or prior work experience
\nDemonstrated ability to create precise 3D models and detailed assembly drawings
\nBe able to read, write and speak English clearly
\nBe able to interpret and work from original two-dimensional engineering drawings
\nProficiency with modern CAD/CAM systems (preferably SolidWorks)
\nKnowledge of GDT principles
\nAbility to modify parts and assemblies to rapidly adjust designs.
\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
\nMust be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time.
\nExperience with manufacturing processes and materials
