Position Summary: The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a maintenance shop under the guidance of a Maintenance Manager. This role includes supervising a team of technicians who handle preventive maintenance and repairs for a fleet, machinery supporting a post-collection facility, and equipment servicing the container shop. The supervisor ensures all repairs and maintenance on equipment (including trucks, containers, and other heavy-duty equipment) comply with safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the supervisor plans and schedules repair work to ensure timely and safe completion, minimizing productivity loss.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Direct A, B, and C level technicians to ensure all repair and maintenance work is performed safely, efficiently, and promptly.
• Monitor operational performance and efficiency, making adjustments as needed.
• Report performance to management and recommend process improvements.
• Supervise technicians, including conducting daily shop huddles, fleet walks, coaching, training, and making hiring/termination decisions in collaboration with HR and management.
• Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Identify training opportunities and discuss corrective actions with technicians as needed.
• Conduct Quality Control Inspections and track issues to ensure proper completion of work.
• Oversee complex repair diagnostics and provide coaching; may road test vehicles to determine necessary repairs.
• Manage shop inventory control to ensure necessary equipment and parts are maintained within budget.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems to perform preventive and repair maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Handle administrative matters for the team, including payroll, employee records, maintenance records, budget preparation, and goal setting.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in various areas including Drive, Brake, Suspension and Steering, Electrical/Electronic, HVAC Systems, Diesel Engine, and ASE T Master Certified.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role or other management role requiring knowledge of safe working practices and regulatory compliance.

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
